Ferrous metals are magnetic and mainly composed of iron. Extremely hard wearing and durable, ferrous metals are used in all types of industry. These metals lend themselves to recycling, especially steel as it doesn’t lose any of its physical properties during the process.
non-ferrous
Non-ferrous metals don’t contain iron and are highly malleable. Used in corrosive environments, they are resistant to rust and their non-magnetic properties make them ideal for electronic and electrical applications.
